Stoïc thought 7: The 7 tasks of the mind

The only tasks our mind should perform are:

  1. Choice, to do and think which is right.
  2. Refusal, of the temptation of empty gratification.
  3. Yearning, to be the best you can be.
  4. Revulsion, of negativity, bad influence and what which is untrue.
  5. Preparation, for what is possible and on our path.
  6. Purpose, the guiding principle, and main priority.
  7. Ascension, to see and understand that which is within our sphere of influence and to accept what is not.

Other tasks are corruptions.
